We’ve made a lot of friends over the past two decades—and we have a lot to celebrate. We invite past staff or board members, volunteers, Bag It Bag recipients, healthcare providers, donors and sponsors to join current staff and board members for this Open House. Share an appetizer and toast to the organization’s important milestone with Bag It Founder Sherri Romanoski.

These past 20 years of helping people and their families cope with cancer and engage in their care have been possible because of you!  Stop by and say, “Cheers to Bag It.”

The 14th Annual Tim Barber Walk for POP

WHEN:  Saturday 30, 2023  |  Registration at 7 am  |  Walk starts at 8 am
WHERE:  Tempe, Arizona  | Tempe Kiwanis Park  |  5203 S. Ash Avenue

September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and this walk celebrate Prostate Cancer survivors and honor those whose lives have been lost to this disease. Shop the vendor village and enjoy food and entertainment.  Registration Fees: Walk – $30 per Adult – $15 children under 12

2023 Honorary Walk Chairman is Corey Woods, Mayor of Tempe.  He says: “Please join me at the 14th Annual Tim Barber Walk for POP this year. I am humbled to be the Honorary Chairman. I have had many friends and family members that have had prostate issues. What POP is doing is saving lives, one screening at a time”

Screening includes a PSA (prostate specific antigen blood test),
DRE (digital rectal exam), Testicular Exam, and Urologist Consultation.

Free Thrivorship Community Event

WHEN:  Saturday, October 7, 2023  |  8 am to 1 pm
WHERE:  Tucson, Arizona  |  DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tucson – Reid Park  |  445 S. Alvernon Way

Open to all cancer survivors and their families and caregivers, this event features physician speakers, community resources, free breakfast and lunch, and giveaways.  Join us to learn more about cancer and what is available in our community, including Bag It Cancer’s Bag It Bag.  We will bring bags so that you can see how you or your loved one can organize healthcare records, understand treatment, side effects, coping strategies, nutrition and more.  Can’t wait to see you there.

Ironwood Annual Survivors’ Day: Free Pancake Breakfast & Community Event

WHEN:  Saturday, October 14, 2023  | 8-10 am
WHERE:  Scottsdale, Arizona  |   Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers at Scottsdale, 8880 E. Desert Cove Avenue

Every year, Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers and Ironwood Women’s Centers hosts their Annual Survivors’ Day Celebration event. It is an event created to inspire their patients and give them the hope they need to keep moving forward. This event not only brings the community together but also provides essential resources for cancer survivors and their families.

Join us at this fun-filled event for the community. Flapjacks will be flying at the pancake breakfast and you will be treated to a Tai Chi demonstration, kids crafts, face painting and a survivor celebration. A healthcare team will be on hand to conduct head & neck cancer screenings.

Something New…Something Different! It’s More Than a RACE…It’s an EVENT!

RUN, WALK, OR JOG! The highly acclaimed PIG OUT race is going live in Tucson on New Year’s Day at beautiful St. Philip’s Plaza! The PIG OUT is a not-to-be-missed community event with course distances for everyone. The PIG OUT 5K, 10K, and 1-Mile Piggy Parade are designed to meet the fitness needs of all age groups and abilities–runners, joggers, walkers, and those who delight in carriaging their children (or their chihuahua) around a racecourse.

Unlike other timed races, the PIG OUT is more than just a great fitness run, it’s a fun-filled community event with music, entertainment, games, delicious food at the finish line and activities that will delight the entire family. 12th Annual Escape to THRIVE Leadership Conference

The Escape to THRIVE conference brings advocates together for learning and networking with the ultimate goal of improving cancer patient education and outreach.
