Manager, Healthcare Outreach

Join Bag It Cancer, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicating to empowering those impacted by cancer, to expand our patient education bag distribution system of healthcare providers across the United States. The Manager plays a key role in soliciting and developing new partnerships with healthcare offices and others to become Bag distributors and financial contributors. Knowledge of the oncology healthcare system, comfort speaking with and presenting to medical providers, key stakeholders and decision makers will make you successful. You will be a welcome addition to our dynamic and passionate team.

Full-time, Monday-Friday business hours. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Remote work location okay. This position is for nationwide distribution and travel to other states and conferences will be required. Training will be provided to familiarize you with the organization and the Bag.

Role of Manager, Healthcare Provider Outreach includes but is not limited to:

The Bag It Bag

Healthcare Provider Outreach (Primary focus – 80% of time)
  • Serve healthcare providers by acquainting them with the Bag It program and establish them as a Bag distributor & funder to provide Bag It Bags and meet their patient’s needs
  • Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential contacts
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director create & execute a plan to expand distribution outside of AZ
  • Connect with other potential Bag distributor clients (nonprofits, businesses, etc.)
  • Provide Bag It Bag training to Bag providers on how to distribute and use the Bag
  • Work with Bag distributors to solicit feedback from providers and their patients
  • Ongoing collaboration with providers and others utilizing bags to ensure consistent distribution of bags to patients
  • Keep supervisor informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports and weekly work plans
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on customer sales
  • Assist in creation of marketing and business development materials for new clients
 Bag Components
  • Provide input on changes/updates to bag content
  • Participate in review of bag (every 18-24 months)
  • Customize bags as needed with new healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with team to create, review and update content for cancer-specific bags as available
  • Collaborate with other organizations to create cancer-specific bags
  • Provide content for website, marketing and communication purposes as needed

Community/Outreach

  • Increase the visibility and awareness of Bag It in the cancer community
  • Represent Bag It as requested at conferences and other events (attend, present)
  • Attend relevant partnership meetings to connect with key stakeholders
  • Attend educational events as appropriate
  • Participate in local/statewide committee(s) and networking organizations as appropriate

Organizational

  • Provide input/content on communication pieces, monthly newsletter & website
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Be a team player and assist with fundraising events, community events, and others as needed
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Successful candidates for the Role of Manager, Healthcare Provider Outreach will demonstrate the following:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Sales experience
  • Track record of meeting sales goals
  • Prospecting, negotiation and closing skills
  • Self-confidence
  • Product knowledge
  • Presentation skills
  • Customer service

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of work experience in a similar sales role for a health-based organization or nurse/patient navigation/social work, preferably in cancer patient advocacy/education or related supportive role
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a (remote) team environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural needs & work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Google based programs, Zoom, email
  • Exhibits a passion and excitement over cancer advocacy work. Has a can-do attitude
  • Comfortable seeking out and communicating with potential medical provider distributors

 Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health-related field (e.g., public health, social work, etc.) with at least 3 years of experience
  • Spanish Bilingual – reading, writing and speaking
  • Background in oncology and delivering patient education advocacy programs
  • Experience with project management and nonprofit work
