Job Type: Part-time, 24-30 hours a week

About Bag It Cancer

Bag It Cancer is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources, education, and support to individuals impacted by cancer. Our mission is to empower patients and caregivers with the information they need to navigate their cancer journey.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of Bag It Cancer. This role involves administrative tasks, donor and volunteer coordination, and general office support to ensure the efficiency of our programs and initiatives.

Work Environment

  •  In-office required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience, $18-$20/hour

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Manage emails, phone calls, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize digital and physical files.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics.

Donor & Volunteer Coordination

  • Update and maintain donor and volunteer databases.
  • Assist with donor acknowledgments and thank-you letters.
  • Support volunteer engagement efforts, including scheduling and communications.

Event & Program Assistance

  • Assist in planning and coordinating events, including fundraising campaigns and community outreach.
  • Help manage logistics for workshops, webinars, and meetings.

Marketing & Communications Support

  • Assist with social media posting and email communications.
  • Help maintain the website with updates and announcements.
  • Prepare materials for newsletters and outreach efforts.

General Office Support

  • Handle mail distribution and shipping needs.
  • Support special projects as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for nonprofit work and Bag It Cancer’s mission.
  • Preferred: Nonprofit experience.
  • Preferred: Bookkeeping skills/experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with donor management systems.
