Sunday, Oct. 27 was a perfect fall morning at Catalina State Park as over 150 people trekked to empower those impacted by cancer. This was the 16th Take a Hike for Bag It and it was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the day and helping to raise funds to provide the Bag It bag. There was something for everyone, even if you didn’t hike. Over 30 people joined Mary Carhuff as she led them on the Meditation Nature Walk, many got an early start for a longer hike, some did the Canyon Loop, and other guests were just Chillin’ at the Ramada talking, relaxing and listening to the great tunes by DJ Earful (hope we didn’t disturb the Boy Scouts camping too much).
After getting in some exercise guests bid on items, put in their raffle tickets, enjoyed brunch and visited with new and old friends. The event concluded with MC Dan Marries talking with Bag It bag recipients and advocates, Donn (caregiver) & Andy Corder (8 year survivor).
